Best Welsh Fashion Business 2013

Goose Island was voted Best Welsh Fashion Business 2013. 

In Addition to this Award Karen Hutchings, Managing Director of Goose Island, was nominated and shortlisted for the International Achievement Award in Swansea Bay Woman in Business.

The International Achievement award is annually awarded to the business woman who has achieved successes in expanding the scope of her business into overseas markets through import/export growth and/or by growing a client base overseas or any company with a strong track record in terms of imports/export with a woman at its heart either in terms of ownership, directorships or executive control.

Karen Hutchings was nominated and shortlisted for The Internatiional Achievement Award in Swansea Bay Woman in Business Awards 2013 and received the Award for Highly Commended International Achiever 2013.

Karen is the founder of Goose Island and set up the first Goose Island store in 1994 and since then has been exporting clothing across the world.

The Goose Island products have sold across Europe and America. Goose Island also has a presence and showroom in Paris and supply to many shops across France.
Goose Island's export sales across the world now account for 50% of the sales of the business and Goose Island owns two successful shops in Wales.
On receiving her nomination Karen said: “I am thrilled. This came totally out of the blue. I am really pleased to be recognised. It is an honour.”
